The use of this website, as well as the contracting of any of the services indicated on this site, is inseparable from reading and accepting these terms and conditions, drafted in accordance with the legislation in force at the time of their writing.

Article 1 - Scope

  1.   2. The activities and services advertised on the website are the responsibility of the International Canyoning Academy Association (ICA).

Article 2 - Purpose

Establish the rules and conditions for:

  1. Membership: Interested individuals can become members of the association by paying an annual fee, according to the values and rules defined in these terms and conditions.
  2. Enrollment in training, courses, and workshops – the association provides and teaches training, courses, and workshops related to canyoning and/or areas related to this activity, with enrollment subject to the rules established in these terms and conditions.
  3. Activities for members – activities organized by the association for members are free, provided that the rules and conditions established in these terms and conditions are observed.
  4. Accommodation at ICA headquarters - the association provides accommodation at its headquarters, subject to reservation and availability, provided that the rules and conditions established in these terms and conditions are followed.

Article 3 - Target Audience

  1. The services provided by ICA are intended for individuals over 18 (eighteen) years old who wish to:
    1. Become members;
    2. Start canyoning activities;
    3. Become trainers, instructors, or examiners in canyoning;
    4. Become independent practitioners, assistants, or guides in canyoning;
    5. Gain more knowledge in the field of canyoning;
    6. Gain more knowledge in areas related to canyoning, such as basic life support, mountain meteorology, personal protective equipment inspection against falls from heights, geology, and outdoor photography.
  2. The contracting of services by minors under 18 (eighteen) years old is permitted if they are emancipated or, alternatively, if the contract is made by their legal guardian, subject to all applicable legal formalities. In either case, ICA reserves the right to request additional documents to demonstrate these conditions, as well as the right to refuse service if it deems that the capacity to exercise rights and, consequently, the validity of the contract, are not sufficiently assured.
  3. ICA reserves the right to request clarifications, additional data, or relevant documents for the purpose of validating service acquisitions.
  4. ICA guarantees the confidentiality and protection of data submitted on the website www.ica-canyoning.org, under the terms indicated in its Privacy Policy.

Article 4 - Services

  1. The contracting of any of the services listed on this website implies express acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  2. Available services:
    1. Membership: Becoming a member of the International Canyoning Academy Association (ICA) requires payment of an initial fee at the time of registration and an annual fee. Membership lasts a minimum of 12 (twelve) months and entitles the member, during this period, to participate in association activities and access training sessions.
    2. Training, workshops, and courses: The International Canyoning Academy Association (ICA) promotes, manages, and teaches specialized training, courses, and workshops in canyoning and/or related areas. These are subject to a contract with the minimum duration specified for each training, course, and workshop. Enrollments are only valid after payment confirmation and submission of the necessary documents. The association reserves the right to cancel or postpone training, workshops, and courses if the minimum number of participants is not met.
    3. Accommodation at ICA headquarters: The International Canyoning Academy Association (ICA) provides accommodation at its headquarters, subject to reservation and availability. Only the individuals listed in the reservation have the right to use the facilities. The accommodation rules must be followed, and the facilities must be treated with care and consideration. ICA is not responsible for theft, loss, or deterioration of valuable items left in the accommodation or parked vehicles.
  3. The schedule and specific conditions of each activity (area, description, objectives, content, duration, price, and other information) are only valid for the disclosed dates.
  4. ICA reserves the right to update these services at any time without prior notice, without prejudice to previous reservations.
  5. ICA reserves the right to make changes to programs due to force majeure, such as changes in weather conditions or the illness of the person responsible for the activity, and will notify registered participants in advance of such changes.

Article 5 - Registrations and Reservations

  1. Registrations and reservations are made by filling out the online forms provided for this purpose. ICA will confirm availability via email, followed by the payment of the specified amount to secure a spot in the activity under the provided conditions.
  2. Notwithstanding, all registrations and reservations are subject to ICA's approval.
  3. By registering or reserving an activity with ICA, you confirm that:
    1. You have read and accepted the general terms and conditions presented here, as well as the program and specific conditions of the activity you are enrolling in;
    2. You have the necessary physical and mental health conditions suitable for the activity you are enrolling in;

Article 6 - Prohibitions

  1. After contracting any of the services indicated on this site, it is prohibited:
    1. To create or introduce into ICA servers any type of viruses, worms, trojans, scripts, or any other code or program that contains destructive or harmful properties, or to advise third parties to do so.
    2. To share with unauthorized third parties the passwords provided to access the services rendered.
  2. Regarding this website, it is expressly prohibited:
    1. Its use for illegal purposes or any other purposes that may be considered unworthy of ICA’s image.
    2. The usurpation, counterfeiting, exploitation of usurped or counterfeit content, and unlawful identification.
    3. The creation and/or introduction of any type of viruses, worms, trojans, scripts, or any other code or program that contains destructive or harmful properties, or advising third parties to do so.
  3. Failure to comply with the provisions of this article constitutes a criminally punishable offense.

Article 7 - Pricing

  1. The prices for each contracted service must be consulted on the website, specifically at https://www.ica-canyoning.org/table-of-values, where they will be updated as necessary without prior notice, without prejudice to ongoing services.
  2. Payment for each service must be made at the time of booking, following the receipt of the email sent by ICA with the respective data and payment methods.

Article 8 - Payment Methods

  1. All services are reserved and paid for at the time of booking, following the receipt of the email sent by ICA, using the available payment methods indicated in that email, including Multibanco reference, MBway, VISA, and Mastercard.

Article 9 - Cancellations and Refunds

  1. ICA reserves the right to cancel activities at any time in the following situations:
    1. The number of registered participants is below the minimum required;
    2. Adverse weather conditions, high fire risk, or other conditions that do not allow the activity to be carried out safely;
    3. Force majeure preventing the organizing entity or its representatives from conducting the activity.
    4. In case of activity cancellation, registered participants will be informed via the email address provided in the registration form. In this case, the participant may choose to request a full refund of the amount already paid or the issuance of a voucher of the same value to be used for registration in another activity.
  2. Regarding cancellations of registrations and reservations by the participant, please note the following conditions:
    1. The cancellation request must be sent by email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., stating: name, the activity registered for, and the reason for cancellation.
    2. ICA will always charge an administrative fee of 10% of the total registration amount.
    3. Without prejudice to the previous clause, for a refund of the remaining amount, cancellation requests must be made at least 30 (thirty) days before the scheduled start date of the activity.
    4. Cancellations requested less than the stated period before the start date or failure to appear at the designated location and time will not be refunded, except in exceptional circumstances to be explained in the email and subject to ICA's evaluation and decision.
  3. Canceling membership before completing the minimum period of 12 (twelve) months does not entitle the member to a refund of the joining fee and annual membership payment.

Article 10 - Contract Termination

  1. The user, as defined in Article 3(c) of Decree-Law No. 24/2014, of February 14, has the right to freely terminate the contract without the need to indicate a reason within 14 (fourteen) days from the date of contract execution, which is considered the date of payment.
  2. In the cases outlined above, the consumer is obliged to pay ICA a proportional amount (calculated based on the total price) for the service provided up to the moment of the termination notice, whenever services are used immediately after payment.
  3. Apart from the situations mentioned above, both parties may terminate the contract under the deadlines mentioned in these Terms and Conditions.
  4. In case of non-compliance with these Terms and Conditions by either party, the non-breaching party may terminate the contract by written notification to the other party, with immediate effect, without prejudice to judicial remedies for determining civil and/or criminal liability.

Article 12 - Limitation and Exclusion of Liability

  1. Regarding the site and its services:
    1. Neither ICA nor any other party involved in the creation, production, maintenance, or implementation of this site can be held responsible for any damage or harm, whether in civil or criminal liability, resulting from the correct or incorrect use of the site and its content by users, unauthorized access to the user's computer and IT system, viruses, among others.
    2. For ease of access, links to other internet sites may be included. When using these links, users should review and accept the terms of that site before using it. ICA cannot guarantee the quality of these external sites and assumes no responsibility for their content or other features. This site is neither responsible for the content nor for the theme of any other page or portal, including any site that provided access to it or whose access was gained through its portal.
  2. Regarding ICA headquarters and its services:
    1. ICA rejects any obligation of surveillance and/or duty of care regarding goods, products, and/or equipment owned by guests and/or users that remain within ICA’s premises.
    2. The guest and/or user accepts full responsibility for monitoring and preserving the goods, products, and/or equipment kept within ICA's premises and cannot claim compensation from ICA in case of disappearance, loss, deterioration, and/or damage.
    3. ICA shall not be held responsible in any case for the activities carried out by users and service beneficiaries within its facilities, being solely responsible for maintaining and enforcing the conditions outlined in these Terms and Conditions for its operations.

Article 13 - Copyright and Intellectual Property Rights of this Site

  1. All data and general content on this site are the property and/or exclusive use of ICA and are protected under general law and national and international intellectual property legislation.
  2. Reproduction for personal use is allowed, but unauthorized modifications, imitations, lending, rentals, transmissions, or sales of any content on this site are prohibited.
  3. The content of this site's pages is protected by Copyright and Related Rights and Intellectual Property Rights.
  4. All rights not expressly granted by ICA are reserved. As such, all texts, images, illustrations, photographs, advertisements, trademarks, and other content on the site are protected by law, and any copy, reproduction, dissemination, transmission, use, modification, sale, publication, distribution, or any other use, in whole or in part, by any means, is strictly prohibited.
  5. The exceptions to the prohibition mentioned above are the legally authorized free uses, particularly the right to citation, provided that the source is clearly identified.
  6. Violators will be subject to legal proceedings.
  7. Some parts of the site may contain images that are subject to copyright by their suppliers.

Article 14 - Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

  1. These Terms and Conditions are governed and interpreted in accordance with Portuguese law. The user consents to the jurisdiction of the Portuguese courts to hear any action arising from and/or related to these Terms and Conditions and the use of this site.
  2. For any dispute arising from the interpretation, execution, or integration of these Terms and Conditions, the competent court, with express waiver of any other, shall be the Court of Ponte da Barca.
