Autonomous

This course is focused on training trainees to obtain knowledge to carry out the autonomous practice of the modality, managing to progress within an activity without the need for support, as long as they are part of a group with qualified technicians to lead. Therefore, the focus of this course is not the professional practice of the sport but on an introduction to autonomous practice integrated into groups. This course consists of an e-learning module and 4 days of training.

Goals:
  • Enable the practitioner in the autonomous practice of the sport, knowing how to use most progression techniques without the need for support
  • Mastering the various types of abseiling and blocking
  • Apply security attitude when accessing anchor points
  • Mastering security principles from above and below
  • Knowing how to move on a rope in different situations
  • Do the most common nodes in canyoning
  • Knowing communication in canyoning
  • Know the equipment needed for canyoning
  • Knowing how to get weather information
Course organization:
  1. e-learning module: access 15 days before the course
  2. Training: 4 days
Evaluation:
  1. Daily evaluation: the trainee is assessed daily
  2. Qualitative evaluation: the trainee is assessed qualitatively if he/she has achieved the objectives
Recipients:
  1. Trainees who want the first contact with the modality, without a commercial framework
  2. Practitioners who want to gain new knowledge and improve their skills
  3. Trainees who want to start their journey in canyoning
Prerequisites:
  1. Availability and physical condition to practice nature sports
  2. Canyoning Personal Protective Equipment
